      Etienne Decroux was the founder of modern mime. His career began in at Jacques Copeau's Ecole du Vieux Colombier. As an actor, he performed in Lous Jouvet's and Gaston Baty's companies, Dullin's Theatre de L'Atelier, and Marcel Carne's film Les Enfants du Paradis.
